Managing Your Account
How do I change my email address?
Your email address can't be changed in the app right now. Contact support at [email protected] — we can advise on your options, including migrating your data to a new account.
How do I reset my password?
Click Forgot Password on the sign-in page or go to Settings > Security. You'll receive an email with a reset link. You can also change your password there (you'll need your current password).
How do I delete my account?
Delete your account from the iPhone app: Settings → Security → Delete Account. This is immediate and permanent — all your recipes, meal plans, and data are deleted. On the web, contact support at [email protected].
Can I change my display name?
Yes! Go to Settings > Account > Profile to change how your name appears to other users in the community.
Subscription & Billing
How much does Premium cost?
Premium is $0.99/month or $9.99/year. This includes unlimited recipe imports, an AI credit allotment (16 credits/month on the monthly plan, 200/year on the annual plan) for features like the Cooking Assistant and AI meal planning, collaborative cooking, calendar export, and more.
How do I upgrade to Premium?
Go to Settings > Subscription > Upgrade or visit our Pricing page. On iPhone, you'll purchase through the App Store. On the web, Stripe card checkout is offered when available — otherwise you'll be pointed to the iPhone app.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Go to Settings > Subscription > Manage. You can cancel anytime and will retain Premium features until the end of your billing period.
Will I lose my recipes if I cancel?
No! Your recipes and data are yours. If you cancel, you'll keep everything but lose access to Premium features like unlimited imports and AI.
Can I get a refund?
Refunds are handled by the store you purchased from — Apple for App Store subscriptions, Stripe for web purchases. Contact them directly to request one; when a refund is granted, Premium is removed from your account automatically.
Privacy & Security
Is my data secure?
Yes! We use industry-standard encryption for data in transit and at rest. Your password is hashed and never stored in plain text.
Who can see my recipes?
By default, your recipes are private. You can share individual recipes via public link, or share entire recipe books with specific people.
What data do you collect?
We collect only what's necessary to provide our service: your account info, recipes, meal plans, and usage analytics to improve the app. We never sell your data.
Can I download my data?
Yes! Go to Settings > Data > Export to download all your recipes and data in JSON, CSV, Markdown, or ZIP format.
Notifications & Preferences
How do I manage notifications?
Go to Settings > Preferences > Notifications to control which notifications you receive — per-category toggles for email, push, and in-app.
Can I turn off email notifications?
Yes! In Settings > Preferences > Notifications, you can disable all email notifications or choose which types you want to receive.
How do I change my theme?
Go to Settings > Preferences > General to choose between light, dark, or system theme. This applies across all your devices.
How do I change units (imperial/metric)?
Go to Settings > Preferences > Recipes to switch between imperial (cups, ounces) and metric (grams, milliliters).
Data & Sync
How do I sync my data?
Data syncs automatically whenever you're online. On iOS, pull to refresh to force a sync. On web, simply refresh the page.
How do I import recipes from another app?
Go to Settings > Data > Import. We support importing from Paprika or Pepperplate, or bring standard JSON, CSV, Markdown, or ZIP exports from most apps.
How do I backup my data?
Use the export feature in Settings > Data to download a backup of all your recipes and data. We recommend doing this regularly.
